July Birthdays

The kids and I spent the weekend down at my pops and the weather was beautiful. We swam in the big (and little) pool and played outside all day Friday and Saturday. So it figures on Sunday when we are planning to have a family BBQ it rains most of the day, but we had a great party anyway. While we were laying by the pool and partying, Brad was finishing the Seattle to Portland bike ride! It was quite an accomplishment and we are super proud of him.

Just like most times I am down at my Dad's, there were tears. My Dad's first birthday without my mom, the first swim in the pool without her, and the first summer BBQ at the house without her. There is always a first looming around the corner but I think she would want us all to be together and be happy. For my Dad's b-day present I framed a picture my parents on their wedding day, a recent picture of them together, and a poem. We cried.

A Dream For You
If I could dream
The dream I wanted too,
I would close my eyes,
And dream a dream for you.

I would give you all the world,
That you are deserving of,
And to you I would give
My everlasting love.

I would see to it,
That you were never sad.
And nothing in your life
Would ever happen bad.

I would wish for you,
All things would go your way,
And you would always be happy,
Each and every day.

In my dream
You would stay
Just as beautiful
As you are today.

Life for you would be as perfect
As the blueness of the sky,
And no one would ever hurt you,
Or ever make you cry.

I know it's just a dream,
But if dreams could come true,
I would close my eyes,
And dream a dream for you.

Don't we all wish we could dream a perfect life (and beyond) for those we love? I hope my mom is content and happy where ever she may be.

Sweet Evie

My cousin Jeff just starting playing for the Vikings, so we gots to show some love.

Funny picture of me, but the best one I had of my niece and I.

Ben ready to give Evie kisses.

Big Kiss.

July b-day peeps (Uncle Buford, Dad, Sis, Uncle Eric), all except Abi because she was too busy playing and my Aunt Kathy who is no longer with us -and missed greatly.

Happy 35th Sister! Sunday was her actual b-day.

Abi carrying her cousin around the yard.

Evie in her swim suit didn't get in the water much, but as soon as she got real clothes on she was in the pool.

Little buddy learned how to say "no" and "don't" this weekend. Not exactly my favorite words but everything he does is cute and I love it when he says new things. So now when he needs his diaper changed he runs away from me and says "no mama, no!".
