You are soooo awesome!

Happy b-day hubby! Love you and hope had a good b-day, even though you were not feeling well. I'm not sure I can trust your family any longer to keep you in one piece while I'm away :)

Poor Abi cadabby

My poor little Abs has a UTI. And we were just at the doctor. Well, I can no longer say we've never been to the doctor for anything and that she's never been on antibiotics. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. The doctor thinks it came about by a combination of warm weather, dehydration (not enough water), withholding poo/still pooing in a diaper, recovering from a bit of a cold, and a bubble bath. Feeling like a bad mom again because some of those things I can control. When it comes to my babies I can't help but be uber sensitive, if they feel pain and there was something I could of done to prevent it then I can't help but beat myself up about it. I only let her take a bubble bath every so often but I did let her have one on her b-day. The doctor said she's probably been coming down with it for a while so that explains her crankiness all weekend. She didn't have a fever but I still feel bad for being stern with her yesterday when she might have just been acting out because she wasn't feeling good. On a happy note she did much better at the doctor this time, Ben was the grouchy one. It's always someone or something :)

Being the micro nerd I am, I had to take her urine to work with me last night to look at it under the microscope and culture it for myself I already got back my results so I confirmed she's on the right antibiotic. She should be all back to normal before she is the flower girl in Lindsay's wedding this weekend, yay.

Buster bean and the very large egg

Buster bean got another tooth, he has been a grouch off and on lately so it's not too surprising. I think there is another one on the horizon. He is crawling up a storm, his first order of business is of course is breaking into the china hutch. Baby locks here we come. Abi leaves it alone so I hadn't gotten around to baby proofing it yet. His second order of business is going straight for Maggie, which makes me a little nervous. We haven't been as good this time around about letting Maggie know where she stands in this pack (at the very bottom). Ben's third order of business is going into the bathroom for Abi's training potty-yuck!

Look at that face-here comes trouble
On another note-Linda laid such a big egg yesterday that it barely fit in a regular large egg carton. I guess next time I have to get eggs at the store I'm going to get extra large eggs for the carton. Every afternoon I feed the chickens the crust off Abi's sandwich and they get all excited and squawk when they see me coming. They love bread, who would have thought? Yesterday when I went to give them Abi's crust I found the biggest fattest squirrel I've probably ever seen trying to break into the coop. We noticed the other day that something has been trying to break into the coop because there were teeth and claw marks on the wood, we thought it was a raccoon, but I think it is this gargantuan squirrel.

3 year check up

So I tried to prepare Abi for going to the doctor today for her 3 year check up by telling her exactly what was going to happen: we would sit in the waiting room with the fish tank and the nice lady medical assistant would come get us and weigh and measure her, then we would see the doctor and she would listen to her heart, look in her eyes, ears, and mouth, ect. Abi said that would be OK and she wouldn't be scared. We were in the waiting room and everything was going good I was thinking this might be OK, Abi was looking at the fish in the fish tank when an older man came out and called her name. He had grey hair and a beard and my heart sank I knew this was not going to go well the question at that point was how bad can it be? I saw the fear in Abi's face as we made our way down the hallway to be weighed. Abi does NOT like men, the only way this was going to work was if we had the normal nice young lady medical assistant. She melted on the floor and refused to go near the scale because the guy was there. The guy was just helping out the regular medical assistant (thank goodness or I'd have to change doctors), but the damage was done it was too late by the time the regular medical assistant showed up and it was damage control time. Abi was laying on the ground kicking and screaming refusing to even stand up much less get on the scale. Multiple nurses and medical assistants were coming out in the hallway to see what was going on and trying to help (by blowing bubbles and showing her stickers). After manhandling her a bit because bribery and reasoning failed we got her weighed and measured and into the room. Things went a bit better after that, she cooperated with the doctor and even smiled (no shots-thank god!).

Abi is still in the 97% for height and weight. Her BMI was in the normal range but the doctor said it was a bit high so she might be at risk for obesity as she gets older and we need to make sure she eats healthy and gets exercise. I wanted to say we do eat healthy and get exercise and never eat fast food but it was too late the damage was done, I felt like a bad parent for having a big child. The doctor also pretty much said there is nothing we can do about making her poo on the potty she has to decide on her own, which I'm not sure I agree with either. I'm feeling a little bummed about everything that went down at the doctor, hoping the day gets better from here.

Abi 's B-day party

Our lives changed so much the day our baby girl was born. Everything that was important became unimportant in comparison, we learned to love unconditionally, and to be challenged in ways we didn't know possible. Abigail is such a blessing in our lives and so today we celebrate her birthday. Happy 3rd b-day sweet girl!

Pretty much the only picture Abi would let me take of her the whole day. Lets just say it was a little bit of a challenging day (even with a nap!). I was hoping the terrible two's were behind us but I'm not sure, I guess we'll see what 3 has in store for us :)
These two were pretty happy to get there picture taken, too cute! Evie (beavie) and Ben (the giant baby)

Hello Kitty cake as requested-it took me forever to make, not sure if I'm going to put myself through that again.

Good morning beautiful! Look at that smile.

Abi's 3rd B-day was a success and more to come......

(Ben in the background is cracking me up)

 Extra cheese please :)
 Whose grey beak?

B-day candle round one- (she already had a messy face before digging in to the blackberry cobbler)

Oh my goodness, how can it be? Our little Abigail is turing 3!

Abi woke up this morning to a bouquet of Hello Kitty balloons, a Hello Kitty happy b-day banner, and hot pink presents-lucky girl! Yesterday Grandma Vicki and Aunt Keri took her shopping and out to lunch, tonight we are having salmon and blackberry cobbler, and tomorrow we are having friends over for a b-day party-seriously lucky girl! (more pics to follow)

Benny's new do, and the kids were here-LOL

Ben B got a hair cut.
"Pupperoni"
I go to take a shower and come out to find something like this, the kids were here :)

The latest......

Ben is crawling, not fast, and only if he really wants something, but he is crawling so watch out!
He also has a bad habit of swatting his arms around while I'm trying to feed him inevitably sending food flying everywhere every time I feed him.

I learned today it is a really bad idea to try and take a double stroller into Nordstrom Rack, consider yourself warned. Also, laughed at the fact that Abi knows exactly where all the Starbucks are in our area but has no idea what a McDonald's is or what kind of food they have there.

Betty started laying-so now both chickas are a laying. More eggs for us!

We got a new trailer, pics to follow.

Summer, where are you????

Few super cute pics grandma took the last couple times we visited the lake house. Abi loves her Hello Kitty suit, too bad it's never nice enough for her to wear it :(

Benny loves the swing, just like sister.

Abigail is almost 3

(questions I am going to try to remember to ask her each year before her b-day)

What is your favorite animal? Hello Kitty

What is your favorite animal at the zoo? zebra

What is your favorite color? pink

What is your favorite food? strawberries

What is your favorite toy? babies

Who is your favorite pet? Maggie (dog)

Where is your favorite place to go with mom? signment store (consignment store)

Where is your favorite place to visit? Grandma Vicki's

What do you want for your birthday? Hello Kitty cake

What college do you want to attend? Cougars

What do you want to do when you grow up? play in the sink (she is still a little young for this question)

Funny things my little Abigail does at 2:
-she packs herself a lunch (with plastic food) and says "I'm going to go to work today to make money"
-she calls her blanket "this little guy" ("this little guy wants to come","this little guy is tired","this little guy is stinky")
-when she is trying to get my attention she says "Amy!"
-my favorite has to be her interpretive dancing and singing-there is nothing she won't do to make her brother, daddy, and me laugh
-she can count to 10 and sing the alphabet song (but only if you're not paying attention)
-after getting in trouble she says in the littlest, sweetest voice under her long eyelashes "I'm sorry mommy, I'm sorry for not listening"
-she gives brother lots of hugs and kisses all day long
-she will not speak to any men besides daddy and the papa's
-she loves, loves to be outside and to swim
-she loves to help me with the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and yard work

I can't believe my little baby girl is going to be 3! She is a sugar and spice and everything nice, with a side of sassy. Love her to pieces!

Staycation

The Larsons came and stayed with us this week and we had a great time. We got two babysitters on Wednesday night for 6 kids (2 babies) and had a crazy night out on the town with the Larsons and Sherwoods, meaning we were home in bed by 11. Thursday we went to the zoo, fisherman's terminal, Ballard locks, fish ladder, and had a BBQ with friends.
Abi loved the baby turtles and otters at the zoo. It was such a typical Seattle day, it poured down rain the first hour we were at the zoo, but there were no crowds.

Ben B at the fish ladder.
Abi was so tired she was getting super silly, this cute picture was followed by a large temper tantrum.
Abi playing in the garage in undies and boots, oh yeah and she had plumbers crack.
The sweetest baby in the world sleeping peacefully.
Check out those new teeth.
