Growing like weeds

Our kids grew like weeds this summer. All Ben's pants are inches too short and Abi and I wear the same size shoe. We also share socks. Cate is out of toddler sizes and into big kid sizes. I'm holding my breath for a moment to appreciate them right now before everything changes. I love right now. They are old enough to be independent, but not old enough to know how to get in real trouble. Our problems are small and happiness big.

Ben is playing flag football and doing cross country. Abi is doing cross country and wants to do gymnastics or swimming. Cate seems all grown up going to school/educare all day and starts dance class soon.

I love the sun kissed hair and tan skin from summer.

Dog days of summer

The dog days of summer are over. I miss them already. The feeling of being free and the sunshine. In all honesty it was a stressful, busy summer of moving and settling into our new house. We didn't take any long vacations, only short choppy ones that went by too fast and didn't involve relaxing. But in the midst of chaos we still made time to enjoy the ride. Even though it often meant sacrificing sleep and productivity. I wouldn't change that. That was the time our family really spent together. Those are the times the kids will remember. Hanging at the pool with friends, eating burgers on boat, swimming at sunset, staying up late watching movies. We did a lot of good living this summer. Until next time summer, goodbye.

First day of school

New schools for everyone this year. Cate started PK4 at St Mary Catholic school. She is darling in her uniform. We decided to change schools because this one has before and after school care. She was nervous on the first day but no tears and already has a best friend.

First day at Sunrise Elementary 2nd and 5th grade. I am thanking the universe they both got in. The wait list for kids that live in boundary is very long. We have been on that list since March and found out three days before school started that we got in. They both have best friends that already go to this school so transitioning should be a little easier. Looking forward to a great school year.

And I am doing a happy dance in a clean quiet house. But I miss them.......

The Grimsbys

I was so beyond happy to be asked to take some pictures for our cousins. Nothing I love more. Still trying to start something someday. Starting small, dreaming big.
