Deception pass

We decided to go camp at Deception Pass this weekend and try out our new trailer. We go there every year during the winter/spring and it seems like most times we are trying out our newest trailer. It is so pretty and so Washington foresty (or Twlight if you will, we look slightly Cullen because we are so white too). We stayed in a different area of the camp ground and we really liked it. The camp site was huge and private and there were very few people around. We knew it was going to rain but since we couldn't do yard work at home and would be stuck inside we decided to go anyway. It was totally worth it because when we got there the sky opened up and it was sunny all afternoon. We got to go for a long hike and both kids walked the whole way (yay for our backs) and it was so pretty and peaceful. It was fun to explore a new area of the park. Abi liked to be the trail leader and Ben would run to follow right behind her. Maggie was probably the most excited, when we pulled into the camp area she started shaking uncontrollably all over and whining/crying with excitement. It was cozy and comfy to curl up in the trailer after dinner and watch a movie with popcorn while it poured down rain outside. The trailer is awesome, everything worked great and we can't wait to take it over to the lake. They are starting to put in the septic this week!

Trees, trees, trees!

Zoo day

It was a beautiful day at the zoo, the sun was out and nothing makes me happier than seeing Abi and Jada running around holding hands giggling. All four of them were playing and running in the trees so the mom's got to have a nice time talking and sitting in the sun. There were four new adorable baby lion cubs, the baby snow leopards from last summer are all grown up (almost), and apparently the jaguar is knocked up (exciting). I packed my camera of course (because we aren't allowed to have undocumented fun) but I realized after we got there that it didn't have a battery in it so these pictures are from my phone. We didn't stay too long because everyone got tired and it was crowded (spring break) so we'll have to go back again soon.

My Craig's list good karma continues. I wanted to get a kiddie pool for the lake property and I wanted one exactly like the one our family that lives down the river from us have. It is hard sided (very sturdy) and can comfortably fit three adults to lounge, not super deep but the kids can swim around a little. Abi had a blast in it last summer over there, but Step2 no longer makes them. So I got on Craig's list and I found the exact pool I wanted listed that day by someone in downtown Bellevue, close to Brad's work, for $60. SOLD! Picked it up today. I can only hope my good Craig's karma continues :) :) :)

Love my muchkins

Love Ben carrying around a cougar football he found in the garage for 2 days straight. He had to take it everywhere. Love his cave man talk. At least he puts two or three words together now on repeat. Love his big fuzzy sweet head, chunky thighs, and dimples. Love his little boy cuddles.

Love Abi whispering things into my ear. Her new thing. Love her bouncing around on her princess ball.  Love that she loves her family her so much especially her brother. Love that she loves to sleep. Love her little crooked smile and grey eyes. Love her happy giggles.

Happy little Easter morning before I had to go to work.

We had pizza casserole for dinner last night, I highly recommend, the kids loved it and I liked it too. I don't have a recipe because I just threw it together but I'm sure it would be easy to find one.

Yesterday I woke up and decided it was time for some new art.
This is a picture that I painted last year.

I wanted something lighter and blue. I had blue paint from Ben's room so I mixed it with white to get this light blue color. I already had white and grey paint and I just used a sponge paint brush.

I have to say I kind of like it.

This picture was my inspiration, but I think I like my art better. I don't consider myself an artist but I am a decent copycat. To be a good artist you have to have skill and know how to see. I just know how to see. Just like you have to have skill and be able to feel to be a good writer, I have no skill just feelings.

Yesterday I went to Williams-Sonoma to get the best waffle mix I've ever had for Easter morning, and to get there I had to walk through Pottery Barn. They had these pretty metallic shells but they were expensive. So I thought I could make shells like that. I have shells at home and silver metallic spray paint. These are the ones I made.

Also, I got a new mirror for our bedroom to replace an old flower picture.
I guess it was a decorating kind of day. Since the art I painted was free, and the shells were free, I didn't feel so bad about spending money on a mirror that was less than $30.

The best thing about the mirror is it's depth and texture.
