Uwwww, LOL

Things that made me go uwwww this week- finding a week old string cheese in my purse, a brown streak on the carpet (chocolate, poo, or dirt?), cat puke on my pillow, a fruit snack in the the crease of the drivers seat that melted with the seat heater and got on multiple pants before I figured it out.

Things that made me laugh this week- Abi said "Ben is a boy because he has a carrot on his but",  old really bad pictures (that I am sorting and tossing), my daughters fashion sense.
She looks so sweet and grown up these days.

Ben B 15 Months

Ben's 15 month stats
Weight: 27lbs 12 oz (87%)
Height: 31.5" (64%)
Head Circumference: 48.7 cm (88%)

We knew he had a big dome but I would have thought his height would have been a higher percentile because he seems tall to me compared to other kids his age. He still only says a few words like da da and mama but he's big into waving, giving high fives, and shaking his head no. He just started climbing on everything so between stealing stuff from his sister, running away, and climbing he's a busy boy. The doctor said it's normal to not be saying much yet, I just remember Abi saying so much so quick. We need to get him off the darn pacifier, I couldn't get a picture of him without it. His teeth have been bothering him so this is the only way any of us get any peace. Two teeth to go then he should be done teething until his two year molars so it will be the perfect time for cold turkey no more sucky. Poor guy, it will be a sad day. I couldn't find Abi's 15 month stats to compare but I'm pretty sure they are probably similar, besides the head circumference.
I just love his little DC shoes.

Ugh.....

What a week....I was busy but nothing was accomplished. Ben is teething and screaming, Abi is being a super pill crying and having fits about everything, I haven't gotten enough sleep and I feel like I'm getting sick. I'm bummed I haven't had a chance to workout or eat better or clean or organize the house-all things I must do to feel good about life (so much for New Years resolutions). Why is it that vacuuming brings me such joy anyway? It's a clean Jean illness. On the bright side, it's almost the weekend, it's been nice enough for the kids to play outside a few days in a row, we went swimming today and I signed Abi up for swim lessons starting next week. Everyday is a new opportunity to have happy kids and be productive. Maybe tomorrow?

Happy 2012

We were lucky enough to spend New Years weekend in Leavenworth with friends in a cool old farm house. Highlight of the weekend was deep fried oreos, sliding down the icy hill in Leavenworth, and snow beginning to fall right at midnight. I love watching snow fall and it really made the New Year beautiful.

Brad deep frying turkey and potatoes.

Also, deep fried oreos -yummy!!!! We deep fried ding dongs and twinkies too but the oreos were by far the best (and a heart attack waiting to happen). Good thing calories don't count until 2012.

These silly girls had a great time running around, constantly moving and playing. I think it will take days for Abi to recover.

In Bavaria. We shopped, had a snack by the fire, slid down the icy hill, and took in the pretty lights. -And oh my goodness it was cold!

Super heroes in action. Brad=Captain Food, Me=Super Toot (fake buns, toot machine and all), Larsons= The Incredibles, Glen=Wife Snatcher (fitting), Kris=Evil Knievel? (Gillian strategically placed), Gillian= Spider man, Kristen=Super mom (sweet mom jeans, velcro shoes, and hair scrunchy). Good thing we got a good picture of the ceiling fan :)
Lucas and Ben too cute! They actually look a lot alike.
Any excuse to take pictures of this cutie pie. I didn't pack any toys for the weekend but Ben had a fabulous time watching the other kids run wild, learning how to climb up and down stairs, and carrying around empty water bottles. So sweet and easy to please at this age.

This year I'm hoping to be the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend I can be. I strive to have more patience with my daughter and take more time for myself to get in shape. This year I am going to spend time (catching up) writing in the kids baby books and doing more fun stuff with the kids. I'm pretty sure I already failed at having patience with Abigail today as when we were getting packed up to come home she was in full (exhausted, hungry) meltdown phase. At least I have another year (minus one day) to make good on my goal.

Happy New year!

Hmmm, what happens after the kids go to bed on New Years Eve..... I look forward to celebrating with great friends again this year. Last years theme was 50's formal this year is even more creative. I hope the new year brings our family health and happiness. I hope to run/walk off all the Christmas cookies and do more yoga. Brad is starting a new chapter with his new job at PSE and we hope to find a way to move into a bigger house-not in the ghetto. I have a feeling this will be a good year :)
Cheers!
New Years Eve 2010

Happy wifey

I forgot to mention one of the best things about Christmas was that I got not one but two new Costco Ralph Lauren sweat suits. I pretty much threatened my husband and told him he had to get me one or he'd have one grouchy wifey. Between my new sweats and new Costco socks I am one happy lady lounging around the house. I'm not embarrassed to say I have even worn my sweats to the mall and the grocery store. Am I a mom or what? Just need some mom jeans-at least I can laugh at myself :)

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas! But just when we thought we were in the clear Ben came down with a fever on Christmas eve and was pretty miserable and feveish all Christmas day. Thank goodness for 24 hour Walgreen's open on Christmas! As we were running low on infant Tylenol and IB profin. Poor little guy, I guess it was his turn to be sick this year since last year we were all sick but he was fine, probably because I was nursing him at the time.

Our sweet babies were spoiled and so were we. Abi seriously would of been happy to just play with the two toys Santa brought her all day (a giant hello kitty and a cash register). Having to open all her presents just interfered with play time. Ben was happy with his drum and phone from Santa, he carried the phone (that strategically looked just like the remote for the TV) around most of the day. So I opened all his gifts for him. After our morning round of gift opening we went to Nana's for a second round of gift giving.

We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family that are so generous. Christmas was as usual a wonderful day with family.
