Vacation

Vacation started with a few day stay in Pullman, a trip to Cougar Country, Crimson and Gray, and swimming in the pool at the Holiday Inn. Followed by Lindsay's wedding in Union Town and reception in Lewiston. The wedding was so much fun, I haven't stayed up that late dancing since-I can't remember. I was so happy to spend time with my long lost friend Nicole! Although I will have to say staying in a hotel for three nights with two kids is no fun. Then we headed to Spokane, visited the Vails on the way-Henry is too cute, and stayed with the Larsons for a few days. We went to Silverwood in Idaho, which is a huge water park/theme park. Abi actually went on four rides, including the swings (twice), merry-go-round, and a small roller coaster. She also went down a couple water slides, went around in the lazy river, and the wave pool which was her favorite (mine too). Amazingly she did not want to leave the park but we had to get home since the babysitter was watching the younger kids (including Ben). I'm bummed I didn't take my camera to the park and I didn't take any pictures in Spokane. Lucas is such a cute patoot and Abi had lots of fun playing with Hilie and Owen. Next we headed to the lake house for a few days where I went a little picture crazy. Jeremy and Larisa and the kids met us there and we did some boating. The weather was perfect our whole vacation! I did not see a cloud in the sky for a whole week, and it was in the 90's, no wind-ahhh perfection!

So both of our kids had their moments this week, at times I wanted to pull my hair out and other times they just melted my heart.
If only it weren't for that booger, but cute anyway.

We had kind of a critter filled day at the lake, first we were playing cards on the patio with Jeremy and Larisa after we put the kids to bed and a mouse/rat (not sure which) ran past our feet not once but twice, I may have screamed like a little girl. Then a huge black spider appeared on the arm of Larisa's chair. The next evening after we put the kids to bed Brad and I went on a mission to borrow/test out the peaches growing in the neighbors orchard. I was thinking as we walked down the dark road that if I were a snake I think I would be sitting on this warm road (it still felt like 80 out). A few steps later I saw it slithering away, I yelled "snake!" and quickly started back peddling. Brad didn't see it and almost stepped on it, then he freaked out for a whole two seconds, and then decided to get close and see what kind of snake it was. We couldn't tell but it was big probably at least two feet long-yuck and double yuck! The worst part was it went into the orchard where the peaches were. That was it for me I picked a few peaches I could reach from the road, I wasn't about to tromp around in the grass with a snake with flip flops on, but that didn't stop Brad. Not sure these peaches were worth the snake encounter, lets hope it wasn't a rattler.

Drive home, pass out (after a stop at Rusty's-yummy)
The first thing Abi said when we got home and she woke up was "where did all the sun go?" I really couldn't have put it better myself I know we're home when we see clouds and it is cold. I literally went a week and a half without putting on a pair of shoes, coat, or pants, now that's vacation.
