Vacation time

We are going on vacation tomorrow, two nights without kids! I'm sure it won't be long enough but I plan to enjoy every minute of it. Since I probably won't blog, facebook, or check my email for the next few days (I can on my phone but I prefer not to) I decided to post some funny pictures of my husband in college for your viewing pleasure.

No wonder I'm so tired

Ha, ha -true! And a sciatica disorder from lifting and wrestling giant children. Last week my aching back hurt so bad I had shooting pain down my right leg for two days straight. I am (so thankfully) better this week. I am still scared to sneeze, sneezing feels like getting stabbed in the back with a knife. I remember this same thing happening to my back when Abi was two years old.

So yesterday as I was getting ready for bed I realized I had something (food) stuck to the behind of my jeans, probably all day-lovely. Why is it I can't seem to figure out (or no one tells me) I have something stuck to my behind until I take my pants off at the very end of the day? This seems to be a reoccurring theme. I'm sure it has nothing to do with eating in the car :)

It is so cute to me that Ben absolutely loves the show Gold Mining Alaska. He loves to watch the trucks dig and haul dirt. He says "big truck, big truck!" the whole time. It melts my heart even though usually when he's up late watching TV with us it's because he's refusing to go to sleep. This week Abi is obsessed with crafts mostly cutting and gluing paper. Since it keeps her entertained (for hours) I am happy to supply her with glue, paper, and scissors.

I took these kiddos to the Children's museum today because my membership runs out tomorrow and because any second spent out of the house means less mess to pick up. I'm hoping the weather will be nice enough soon so we can go to the zoo instead.

Play date at Elevated Sportz last week, Abi and Jada.

Ben and Jackson

My beautiful sister at the Heart Ball in Portland. On Feb 14th it will be exactly one year since she had open heart surgery.

The husband and I spent a romantic day at the RV show on Saturday. We didn't see as many mullets as I though we would, mostly old folks and young families. We found the perfect trailer, so hopefully in the near future we can get it!!! Today Abi's preschool went on a field trip to a dentist office and she has a Valentines party on Weds. We are making Valentines (pics to follow).

Abi and Ben just wanted to say-

Ben bug

Every little boy named Benjamin should have an engineer hat. It's exhausting being this cute :)

Craigs list find of the week

I have been wanting some kind of entry table that is not a bookcase (full of toys) for eons.

Here is my Craigs list find of the week! This is exactly what I wanted without even knowing what I wanted. Every now and then I see something and I think that's perfect. This was one of those times, and the price was right $50-pretty much my limit. It is super sturdy and solid wood and the best part is that it looks old. I have had good luck on Craigs, the last two times the person wasn't home and just left the furniture on the porch and told me to leave the money in an envelope. So no negotiating but that's fine I suck at it anyway.

The top is the best part.

Cuteness from Friday (taken on my phone)
They look so sweet it's almost hard to believe that today they fought all day and Ben hit Abi in the face and gave her a bloody nose. When did Ben decide to start being such a 2 year old and why is parenting more like being a referee?

So much stuff......

I've been too busy to blog all last week but as always lots of silly stuff has happened-

Abi pretending she is a princess in a dress going to the ball. "Come on Ben lets go to the ball", Abi says while Ben follows her around yelling "balls, balls" wearing a pink cowboy hat.

Ben purposely trying to toot while I change his diaper and belly laughing when he is successful.

The kids playing kitchen, pretending they are making jello shots and coffee. Hmmm........ I wonder where they are learning this?

Joint bath time for the kiddos may be coming to an end since they both think it's hilarious when Ben puts cups and rings on his privates.....

I bent over to get the laundry out of the dryer last week and split my jeans open across the bum. I started laughing so hard the kids thought something was wrong with me. It was one of the highlights of the week for sure, I had to call Brad at work to tell him. That's what I get for buying cheap Target jeans, thank goodness I was at home.

Sloppy joes-Oh yes I made homemade sloppy joes (or manwich if you will) in the crock pot on Sunday and it was de-licous!! I highly recommend this forgotten 90's cafeteria dish -with grated cheddar on top piled on a toasted bun, eat with a fork.

On another note, my 32nd birthday was on Friday and it was lots of fun. We went out for Mexican then chilled with friends and had yummy carrot cake. I opened a present full of Victoria Secret undies in front a group, never awkward.... but it was exactly what I wanted. It was my first b-day without my mom (the one that brought me into this world) honestly it was too much to process so I'm still pushing it around in the back of my mind.

Tubing at Snoqualmie

Honestly, I wasn't sure if tubing was a good idea. The kids might freak out or refuse to go after driving all the way up on the mountain and buying tickets. BUT, they did great, I was impressed! We told Abi we'd go down the slow, not steep lane (there was no such thing) and she was OK with that. Abi rode in a tube with Brad and Ben rode with me. After two reluctant runs they were both hooked. At the bottom they both said "Fun, again!" It was snowing crazy the whole time so the kids weren't crazy about getting blasted in the face with snow but they tolerated it. Ben was the littlest kid there and people were pointing at him because he looked so cute stomping around in the snow. If the kids can handle going down a steep hill fast spinning around backwards (I even thought was scary) then it gives us hope that we can get them skiing next year.

Ben was not impressed at first.

Weekend at Papa's

We spent the weekend at Papa's and got to see our extended family and hang with my Sister and Evie. It is near impossible to get a picture of these three. Ben is picking his nose, and this was the best one! I got the girls these cute matching shirts.

Sunday morning we went out to breakfast at Slappy Cakes a hip Portland restaurant. They have griddles on the table and you make your own pancakes while they blast 90's dance party music. Then we went to a kid adventure zone in P-town.

Evie is so darn cute I can hardly stand it. She was so excited.

I was trying to get a picture of Abi and me when I got nailed in the head with a ball.

Big slide with Papa, again!

Must be time to go, too tired to stand :)
