Thankful Thursday
Starting a tradition on my blog, a day to remember all I have to be thankful for. It's so easy to focus on everything that is negative, especially when I woke up feeling exhausted and burnt out, but I'm trying to turn my day around by remembering what is good and all I have to be thankful for.
First of all, I'm thankful my kids are healthy, and although I work at a wonderful Childrens hospital I have never taken my kids to the doctor for ANYTHING not even a cold.
I'm thankful to have such a helpful, kind, loving husband that makes me laugh.
I'm thankful I've gotten to spend so much time with my family lately.
I'm thankful for my sisters, Keri and Sarah, and my niece Evie, they are the toughest, strongest gals I know.
I'm thankful for our parents and all they do to help us.
I'm thankful I get to spend the weekend with good friends.
Last but not least, I'm always thankful for nummies and hot showers!

Mommy-hood
Even an ordinary day is extraordinary when you have little ones. It's an honor to be Abi and Ben's momma, watching them grow and learn new things everyday amazes me. Today there was lots of laughing and spalshing in the tub!

Guess who?
I have a friend that just told me she is expecting, and getting married, and buying a house. She is about to turn 30 and lives in Pullman. I love her and I am so happy for her, can you guess who? (if you know please don't post on her facebook wall, the cat is not fully out of the bag)
New hutch
I found a hutch on craigslist yesterday and Brad kindly took us out to Sammamish last night to get it. It is the perfect size and style, not frilly or fancy, the downfall is that it is light cherry. So I'll have to sand it down and paint it (probably black) then distress it. I'll post a picture when it's done. I'm looking forward to being able to store all my dishes in the kitchen/dining area, rather than the back bedroom and garage.

Bite heard round the world, or at least round the house
It's official, nursing is coming to an end (see title of post). It's a sad day because it means Ben is growing up and I'm just not ready for that. Everyone always says "enjoy every minute, it goes by really fast!" . . . well thats where I'm at now. Can't he stay my sweet little baby forever.... On a bright note I look forward to getting my energy back and having more freedom than when someone needs you every couple hours and you have to be there on demand.
Easter Bunny
A generous Easter bunny came to our house and we are all suffering from a nummy hangover. We had a lovely dinner at aunt Kerwee's with Nana and both Grandmas but we missed the papas. We squeezed Ben into one of Brad's sweaters from when he was a baby, too cute! It is a very rare occasion that I can get a picture of Abi and Ben together and neither is making a silly face, so all in all it was a good day!
So happy my sister and niece could come spend the weekend with us.
Evie with her new Easter bonnet. I wish I could borrow her for a week or two, I just can't get enough baby love.

After a few beers
Aren't we too old to be drinking too much alcohol (getting sick and falling asleep in the front yard), oh yeah and thinking it's hilarious to dress up the dog?

Should have.....
Should have spent the morning cleaning the house, or doing laundry, or working in the yard, but we went to the zoo instead! Abi's favorite animals were the Kimono Dragon (world's largest lizard) and the Malayan Tapir, I think mostly because they had the most kids crowded around them and the animals were close up to the window. Ben mostly just enjoyed watching Abi watch the animals.
Abi horsing around.
Ben's new trick.

Happiness is....
Today happiness is painting my front door red, and not just any red-the perfect shade of red, ahhhh. (good thing I didn't get too close, ha ha)
Happiness is this picture of my two favorite guys.
Happiness is my new raised garden bed, thanks to my husband. If only we could get some sun this year, please...
Also, a picture of our lovely chicken coop (still needs a paint job).

Evie Beavie and Buster Ben
Lol, someone needs to lay off the miracle grow! and that face Ben is making :)
I just love my little niece Evie, she will be the sweetheart little girl. Since Abi has already claimed the sassy pants spot!
Parenting
What every parent has to tell themselves to procreate- "mine will never be like that". I found myself laughing about this this morning after being up several nights in a row with a screaming teething child and on the brink of a mental breakdown from sheer exhaustion. Even funnier we told ourselves that twice, surely our second will never be like that! Poor Ben, hoping those teeth pop through soon for all our sakes.
Luckily, Brad is great father and always seems to rescue me when I need it most.

Chocolate
Eating dark chocolate while in the shower to hide from my daughter might be clever or weird, but I think its just plain heavenly.
Meet Linda and Betty (our newest editions)
We have chickens! Now lets hope they are hens, not roosters. One of them seems to be more aggressive, that one is Linda (she might be a he).

Big Sister Abigail
Sugar and spice and everything sassy is what big sis Abi brings to our lives,
but we wouldn't have it any other way.

My First Blog-yikes
I created this blog first of all because I'm tired of Facebook, and second so we can share our crazy/busy lives with you. It's also a way for me to document and remember my babies as babies (since I'm no scrapbooker). I hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do....
